Books bring people together. At Bards Alley’s recurring events, individuals of all ages and backgrounds unite on a weekly and monthly basis around their shared interest in books through storytime, happy hour, book clubs, writing workshops, poetry open mic nights, and educational series for children.
Alley Cats Story Time, 10:30 am on Tuesdays: Books, stories, fun! Come by for stories, laughter, and maybe a song or two!
Bread and Circuses (Weekly Happy Hour), 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Thursdays: Something to delight parents and children alike! A read-aloud storytime (starting at 4:30) for kids while parents enjoy happy hour wine, beer, and food specials.
Bards Alley Book Clubs
Historical Fiction – meets the third Monday of the month from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Contemporary Novels – meets the fourth Monday of the month from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Middle Readers (4th – 6th Grade) Parent/Child Book Club – meets the fourth Sunday of the month from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
Boys Early Readers (2nd – 3rd) Book Club – TBA
Writer’s Circle: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm the second Wednesday of the month. Meet with fellow aspiring writers to share ideas and discuss your work.
Poetry Open Mic Night: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Share the experience of the spoken word in our poetry open mic night each Wednesday. Guests can share an original work or one of their favorite poems.
Educational Series – Dates to be determined: Great Books for Girls – Grades 4 – 6 & Journaling Workshop – Multiple age levels.
